Our Smart Buildings help to create efficient, safe, responsive, and responsible environments. This position creates unique design solutions to meet specific customer requirements for commercial security systems in new and existing facilities. The right candidate will make recommendations for productivity improvements and cost reductions to increase customer satisfaction and job profitability.

Responsibilities:

· Choose the appropriate mix of products and installation methods to provide the most cost-effective solution.

· Prepare submittals and schedules; handle the ordering of products and equipment.

· Participate in sales-to-operations turnover meetings to evaluate accuracy of the sales estimate and job layout.

  • Design security access controland CCTV systems for buildings, including floorplan drawings for systemdevice locations, riser diagrams, device wiring details, panel mounting andwiring details, bills of materials, and sequences of operations to meetthe intent of the project plans, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Provide general electricalcalculations, including camera lens selection, conduit fills, power supplysizing, etc.

  • Prepare engineering re-estimatesand follow up with appropriate sales and management to ensureunderstanding of and satisfaction with job scope.

  • Follow up with sales andmanagement to ensure job scope, specifications, and schematics will meetcustomer needs.

  • Provide start-up and checkoutdocumentation to the Project Manager for use in commissioning andvalidation.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree preferred. Candidates with at least 3 years of security access control and CCTV system design experience will also be considered.

  • Knowledge ofengineering security access control and CCTV systems or equivalent fieldexperience with security system controls

  • EIT, ASHRE, NICET, or CISSPcertifications are a plus

  • Knowledge of the following accesscontrol system components: access control panels, door lock powersupplies, card readers (proximity, keypad, biometric), door locks(mag-lock, electric strike, electric mortise), and request-to-exit devices(manual and passive infrared)

  • Knowledge of the following CCTVsystem components: coaxial and ethernet cameras (fixed, PTZ, 180-deg,360-deg), camera mounts (ceiling, wall, pendant, parapet, indoor/outdoor),ethernet IP addressing, ethernet limitations, ethernet switches and patchpanels, and power-over-ethernet (PoE)

  • Ability to read and interpretelectrical circuit diagrams

  • Proficient in Microsoft Officeand AutoCAD

  • Good verbal and written communicationskills in English
