CVS Health is looking for a highly-skilled technical resource who is capable of solving complex analytical problems and has experience working on multiple technology platforms. This role will be responsible for writing high performance code against large warehouse systems like Hadoop, Teradata, Oracle, and various cloud platform. Along with a strong technical knowledge of databases design, SQL coding, data modeling, this role will be expected to develop reports and dashboards in BI platforms like Tableau and MicroStrategy. You will work closely with business partners across the organization to analyze complex business problems, and rapidly develop self service technical solutions that help drive business decisions.

This position is expected to have a strong understanding of the complete development life cycle, and have experience developing technology solutions that address reporting and analytic needs at scale. This includes working closely with various lines of business across CVS health to gather requirements, designing the data architecture, providing analytic insight, and developing reporting/dashboards to be used by the business. Often this will require coordinating with other areas of the organization such as the IT, security, and other analytic teams.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide end to end support of new and existing analytical products including identifying key deliverables, establishing timelines, defining the business problem, generating hypotheses, developing the analytic methodology, summarizing findings, compiling business recommendations and presenting findings to leadership team

• Provide end to end support of system updates based on various enterprise IT initiatives such as database, client platform and source system migrations and/or consolidations

• Analyze industry / technology trends and conduct ad-hoc analyses to address key business questions and unlock insights that drive value for the business by using statistical techniques to create relevant benchmarks, identify outliers and summarize the data to recommend action using a variety of tools such as Teradata, SQL, Python, R, SAS, SSIS packages/jobs

• Develop data visualizations and BI (Business Intelligence) dashboards (including self-service BI for non-technical colleagues) by leveraging software development life cycle for designing new analytical models, data marts, reports, and dashboards

• Interact with business users to gather and analyze business requirements and document technical specifications

• Design and build scalable/reusable data models and ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes to support analysis and reporting on platforms like Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle, Hadoop, performing routine maintenance, and address special requests

• Ensure proper maintenance and centralized storage of key project documentation including business requirements, technical specifications, design documents, and test plans

• Conduct or coordinate appropriate testing of analytic solutions to ensure results are consistent with business requirements or defined needs

• Construct and deliver written reports of analytic findings in a variety of formats, formulate recommendations, and effectively present results to stakeholders

Required Qualifications

4+ years of experience (2 years if in possession of a relevant Master’s degree) in the following:

  1. SQL, SAS, R other similar programming language

  2. Teradata, Snowflake, Azure/Databricks or any cloud-based data platforms

  3. Tableau, Microstrategy, PowerBI or similar visualization software

  1. BA/BS degree required (Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields preferred) with 4-5 years of relevant experience

or

  1. Master's degree or equivalent in an analytic discipline is preferred with 2+ years of relevant experience
